In 1972

John and Maureen Newlands started farming with a simple conviction: water should be used wisely & to grow a crop that was a natural health product with proven benefits for health and vitality.

That conviction led them, after years of research and trialling, to Montmorency tart cherries. The same fruit has been celebrated for centuries in Europe and America as a natural health staple. The same fruit is now verified by science to fight inflammation, support joints, and reduce oxidative stress.

They already knew what the cherries did for people – Tart cherries are proven to be one of the great superfoods’ that not many are aware of.

Maggie’s story

It started the way most good things do… by accident.

Maggie, their dog, had a habit of sneaking cherries from under the orchard trees. And then something unexpected happened: her joints started moving differently. Better. Like a dog years younger.

John and Maureen noticed.

So they did what people with a farm, a conviction, a visionary mindset and a kitchen do — they started testing.
